On 1st July 2007 the market was fully opened to competition. This means that new suppliers can enter the market and compete for customers' business. At this time the majority of suppliers are competing in the business sector.

| You do NOT have to change your meter, pipework or any aspect of your natural gas supply to receive natural gas from a different supplier. Also if you are in receipt of the Free Gas Allowance you will continue to benefit from this if you switch supplier. |

There is NO CHARGE associated with switching supplier.
Step 1
Know what you are looking for! Check your gas bills and see how many units or kWh you use over a year. Your AC Band on your bill will indicate your estimated annual consumption band.
Step 2
Make price comparisons using your actual data where possible.
Step 3
Make sure you are comparing like with like as some tariffs may apply to different usage rates or different customer profiles.
Step 4
Choose your new supplier.
Step 5
Check that services on offer suit you.
Step 6
Once you decide contact the supplier directly to arrange the change over. Your new supplier will take care of all necessary arrangements.
There is no obligation on customers to change supplier.
